Graphite Woodpecker Part 3

More progress on the Woodpecker. I decided to add a touch of colour with a watercolour pencil. I just wanted a subtle touch so didn't add too much and kept it to one pencil.
I usually do French Grey coloured pencil with a splash of colour so this makes a change.
My garden bird for today is a Thrush that was searching for food at the back of the garden.

I think the splash of red really adds to it. Better than if you had kept it completely monochrome.

I wish I could attract song birds to our garden to take photos but it's not fair with the cats. Perhaps, I'll try and come up with something in the area that the dogs are because the cats know they'll just be harrassed if they go in there...

Thanks Toni-Marie, I did hesitate for ages before I added the red, but I'm glad I did.

I hope you come up with something, you'd get some excellent photo's with your skill with a camera.

Really beautiful. Agree about the red. So subtle too. Birds are such beautiful subjects.
