I decided to add a background to the Woodpecker using mainly watercolour with a little coloured pencil on top. It needs some work yet but I have a picture in my mind of how I want it to end up.
I've included a close up of the Woodpecker, still a lot of feathers to complete.
Its coming on beautifully Gayle. The background adds to it and looks great.
ReplyDeleteWe have a number of woodpeckers around here, mostly Northern Flickers and some Downy woodpeckers, but I've never gotten really good photos of them. I need a better camera!
This is exquisite. We had a large Oak tree in our back garden in Virginia and a woodpecker just like this used to come daily to pick insects off the tree. It was a wonderful site.
