Monochrome Cat with a Splash

I have abandoned everything else to complete another cat.
This is mainly coloured pencil with touches of acrylic on Arches Hot Press Watercolour paper. It will be about 16 x 8 inches.
It has more colour than the ones I've done in French Grey, but I am sticking to the monochrome colour scheme.

There will be a surprise addition to the picture once the cat is finished.

Watch this space.

Really lovely Gayle! I love each one of these monochrome with a splash cats more than the one before. I can't wait to see what the surprise is hehe :)

Oh the ears, the ears. Like warm pink velvet. Beautiful...

This is superb. It's rare to see a cat drawn so accurately and you've managed to capture the fur as well as the position so well. I'm intrigued by the fact that you seem to finish small areas before moving on to the next. I tend to work gradually all over - probably because I'm scared to commit myself too soon. x

Thank you Wendy, Cath and Gillian.
I've always worked one small area to completion, it's probably not a good habit, but it's one I can't break.
